Fresh Is Best® Elk
North American elk were gifted to New Zealand by Teddy Roosevelt in 1905. With a climate similar to the mountains of the Midwestern United States and with no natural predators, Elk quickly acclimatized and thrived in New Zealand. Today, alongside a healthy wild population, a small number of elk are raised on extensive unsprayed pastures, by passionate farmers who act with integrity, priding themselves on farming with respect for the animals and the environment. The elk are all grass-fed and finished without hormones or antibiotics, the processing is humane-certified, and New Zealand is a non-GMO country.
